Mrs. Conlin's 2nd graders received a great surprise when one of their classmates donated the "I Promise" book by Lebron James to the whole class! Each student received the book which promotes excelling in school, trying your best, and keeping your family close!

Last week, third graders at Rickard reviewed all they had learned in Quarter 1 with a Luau. Mrs. Swallers' class played a game called coconut, and reviewed math and reading skills that were learned this quarter all day.




Last week, third graders at Rickard reviewed all they had learned in Quarter 1 with a Luau. In the morning, Mrs. Peterson's class played connect four with math problems. In the afternoon, the volcano erupted and the floor turned to lava! The kids worked on reading activities to earn gems. They presented the gems to the Tiki to make the floor turn safe again! It was a fun day for all!




Last week, third graders at Rickard reviewed all they had learned in Quarter 1. They were tired of the cold weather, so they had a surprise Hawaiian day full of math pineapple crafts, luau Connect Four, and the Floor is Lava!




Last week Mrs. Jones Kindergarten class did a unit on apples. The class got to taste test three different kinds of apples, and then vote for their favorite. They ended the week by making applesauce. Each student got to peel and chop up an apple to add to the pot!




Our resource officers stopped by Rickard last week and hung out with Mrs. Bauska and her Kindergarten P.E. class! Like this post if this brings back some grade school nostalgia and memories!



In our adaptive library class last week, students used their critical thinking skill to create various structures and shapes using play doh and different types of tools.



We are celebrating National Coaches Day for our instructional coach, Angela Adkins today! Angela is an essential part of our Rickard family as she is always willing to find resources and materials for anybody who needs them! Her positive perspectives is always present in our building and she is always working with us to come up with solutions that will help our students succeed. We are so grateful that she is a Rickard Roadrunner! Thank you Angela for everything you do!

Mrs. Norby and her first graders learned about silent "e's" last week by doing a "Sneaky Silent E" project!

Mrs. Peterson and her third graders celebrated National Bubblegum Day last week! They celebrated by playing "bubble gum, bubble gum, in a dish" and reading passages about the history of bubble gum and using that knowledge in a breakout game!
